The 401MVA-Y is a benchtop micro Vickers hardness tester designed for microhardness testing of small and thin specimens. A diamond pyramid indenter with switchable HV and HK scales covers the 0-3000 HV range, and the hand-wheel turbo-worm stage gives precise specimen height adjustment. The 0.25 μm measuring unit makes it suitable for electroplated coatings, nitrided layers and quenched hardened cases. Loading is automatic with a 5-60 s dwell time and results appear on the LCD. A CCD measurement system and Knoop indenter are offered as options.
